Super timely race results

O.k. not exactly timely and I won't bother actually giving results. Suffice to say Rossi won. He happened to be leading when the race was red flagged due to the shit weather. Friday it was warm and rained steady all day. We were dressed for it so it didn't suck. Saturday the weather was perfect and we got to see some very fast motorcycles doing what they do best. Really, the only saving grace of the weekend was the awesome weather on Saturday. Sunday, race day -due to a poorly scheduled hurricane two races were red-flagged and one was canceled. We did not get to see an entire race. Rossi and Hayden we really battling in the rain however and it was very cool to see them duelling in the wet. I heard Hayden's tires were gone after a lap or two and could not catch Rossi as a result. Anyway, the event was very well run by IMS and of course they had all thier ducks in neat little rows. There were also lots of Duc's in rows, holy shit were there alot of Ducati's there. The place was lousy with Ducati's. Serindipitously, we got to be right at the front of the line for an autograph signing with Paul Smart, Cook Neilson, Phil Schilling, Larry Pegram, and Paul Tracy. Big luck out on that one.
Here's a little info on the race if you have been waiting patiently in a cave for me to give you this info.

I'll take one of those please....

Time.....

I just don't have any... Here's the one real nice on track pic of the Moto GP winner from the race in Indy. Our seats were great, as you can tell by my pic there. I simply don't have time to post all of them. I also went to to the Hunnert Car Pileup yesterday. Lots of cool stuff but I did not take too many pictures this year. My wonderful Russian made plastic camera seized up on me and I wasted a roll of film. I think I got a few before the ol Smena gunked up. I'm heading out of town again for work and the wife is sick. I'll try again in a few days. Not complaining here, life is good. Just busy. Gotta rock....

Rode the bike to work today

54° at 5:45 - raining. Drag. My bike was awful lonely out there by itself. Someday I'll have to take a picture. It's pretty funny seeing (up to) 15 bikes and the only non-cruiser bike is mine. One of theses things is not like the other. The only exception is one guy rides a Buell from time to time. Lately he's riding his Sportster. I don't really consider my bike a sport bike as such. It's not really in the same leauge as an R6 or a Monster. Let's call it a Sport Commuter, shall we?
Next week I'll try my best to get those MotoGP pics up. The home PC seems to be okay now. I'll be busy on the weekend trying to stimulate the economy by spending lots of money on crap for the house. Oh and I did not forget about the HeliBar review. Since I had not been riding much I wanted to wait until I had a few miles on them before commenting.

Raining...drag

I wanted to ride to work today and I probably would have had it not been for my sloth. Some of it this morning, some last night. I did not get my gear ready last night and with 50deg. temps and rain I really want to gear up. This morning I didn't have the time to coordinate all that along with baby stuff and everything else I need to do. Bell rang - (I'm at work) gotta go...

Rode the Bike to work today

I almost got caught in a parade. Is it homecoming already?
After having ridden for a full week (sad really, but I think that's a record) I'm really getting the motorcycle juices flowing again. I used to own several motorcycles at a time. I only have the two right now. There was a time that I had the local Bargain Finder out circling all the odd named and low priced weird stuff. Times have changed and that stuff is not so common now. With the internet everyone things their Honda CM400 is a collectors item or they just threw it away a few years ago. All the good stuff is in the garages of the Peter Egan set. Empty nest Baby Boomers who are buying all that stuff because they have a little money to spend and the time to work on it. Don't get me wrong I'm friends with many of these guys and when the time comes to sell the stuff I might be in a position to actually buy something. I have a house that needs a little of everything and two wonderful children who need my attention, so I'll focus on riding my S-Wee and working on the Sprint as time allows and one of these days I need to get started on the Ducati.

It's a cool little bike, I really should commit to working on this over the winter. I have it on the stand in the new garage. Oh, but back to the Bargain Finder. As you may have guessed, if you are a regular reader of this here web log, from time to time I get a hankerin' for a specific kind of bike. As I get older and my tastes change I keep finding myself gravitating toward motorcycles with blue and white propellers on them. I like to have a new(ish) bike and I really dig the old stuff too. Since I sold the Honda and I'm actually leaning on turning the Suzuki into a light sport-tourer (not really - I'm just looking at a pair of bags) I'd like to have some sort of nifty old BMW to parade about from time to time. Not an R32 mind you but perhaps a toaster tank /5 or one of these. I was looking at bag sites and saw that pic. I could see me on that. And then starting to take longer routes to work. Buying TourMaster boots. Trading the S-Wee in on a R1200ST. Buying a silver flip-front helmet!!! Oh no make it stop! Sorry, having a nightmare. My Dad's only had two bikes he ever regretted selling, an SR500 Yamaha and a /5 Beemer. It was copper and had a white Windjammer. Ugly as hell but he always remarks about he should not have sold that bike. I have a pic of it but no way to scan it at the moment. I found a cool video though. Getting sleepy, gotta go.

Rode the bike to work today

The baby's been getting up at 4:30 so I have too. Makes it easier to gear up and get out the door when you have more than 45 seconds to prepare. Momma's pissed however, due to the fact that the baby also got up at 10,11,12,1,2,3 o'clock as well. Girl's a trooper I tells ya.
